Alaska State Senator Dan Sullivan spent the day in Haines last Monday (August 29, 2016). He graciously took time out of his busy schedule to meet with me and visit Becky’s Place, our “safe house” in Haines for women and children in abusive situations. After viewing our facility, we spent time talking. I was able to share with him the variety of services we offer outside of providing shelter (such as food, clothing, medical assistance, counseling assistance and transportation), and the number of women and children we have helped these past few years. He was very supportive of our work, asked if there was anything they could do to help us.
We would like to thank Senator Sullivan for his interest in Becky’s Place and his concern for Domestic Violence. It was such a pleasure to meet with him and his staff.
